Chicago public school teachers will no longer have to wish upon a star to see their educational dreams come true, thanks to Wilmette’s Kristen Bowie and Kim Peters.

This dynamic duo have recently co-founded Opportunity GrantED, a 501 (c) (3) that fulfills the resource needs for teachers operating in underserved communities.

For Bowie, the idea was personal. Her background working as a teacher in communities much different than those found within Wilmette District 39, meant she understood that not every teacher has the school supplies they need.
