Five Years of Laughter. Five Years of Impact.

What began as a simple idea has become Opportunity GrantED's signature fundraising event.

Now celebrating its 5th Annual Comedy Night in 2027, this unforgettable evening brings together educators, supporters, local businesses, and community members to laugh, connect, and create opportunities for students throughout Chicagoland.

Since 2023, Comedy Night has raised over $170,000 to fund classroom grants that provide books, STEM materials, art supplies, technology, flexible seating, music programs, sensory tools, and other resources that help students learn and thrive.

Every ticket purchased, sponsorship secured, and raffle ticket sold helps teachers bring their ideas to life and create meaningful learning experiences for their students.

Comedy Night

Comedy Night is Opportunity GrantED's signature annual fundraiser, featuring live comedy and community support to fund classroom grants for under-resourced schools. 

Restaurant & Retail Giveback Program 

Community partners host giveback events throughout the year, with a portion of sales benefiting Opportunity GrantED and its classroom grant program. 

Thirsty Thursday

Premier Partner: The Bottle Shop in Wilmette partners with Opportunity GrantED for its Thirsty Thursday events by donating 10% of Thursday sales each June and November.

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Opportunity GrantED was founded on a simple belief: when teachers have the resources they need, students have greater opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.

What began as a shared vision in 2019 has grown into a community of donors, volunteers, educators, and partners united by one purpose: investing in teachers and creating opportunities for students in underserved areas throughout Chicagoland.

During our 2025–2026 fiscal year, we received a record 368 grant applications and awarded 247 classroom grants totaling $51,564. Those grants funded essential classroom resources, from books and STEM materials to classroom technology, flexible seating, art supplies, and sensory tools, giving teachers the resources they needed to better support their students.

As we reflect on this past year, our hearts are filled with gratitude for our donors, supporters, and the teachers who are the recipients of the grants. Every donation, sponsorship, and volunteer hour fuels Opportunity GrantED’s mission to provide students with the optimal educational experience by granting resources in underserved communities throughout Chicagoland.

Thank you for your generosity in bringing our mission to fruition.

For the 2024-2025 school year, Opportunity GrantED received 319 applications from 40 schools for our fall 2024 grant cycle. From these applications, we funded 190 grants totaling nearly $34,000.

We consolidated our annual grant cycle by streamlining our process, enabling us to reach more educators while strengthening our behind-the-scenes efforts.

This past year has been extraordinary for Opportunity GrantED, filled with milestones and advancements we're eager to share.

We began the 2022-2023 grant cycle strong, thanks to record-breaking donations which empowered us to award an unprecedented number of grants. And our growth didn't stop there! We proudly introduced a Junior Board, bringing fresh perspectives, and expanded our main Board of Directors, adding specialized expertise.
